Project Description:
Charitable Fund Solidarity is a western regional charitable organization which helps the socially vulnerable citizens (homeless, refugees, migrants, orphans, disabled, and poor) in Western Ukraine. We established The Western Ukrainian Training Center, which is where we provide business training, and we use the revenues from it to finance our charity work. The business trainings are also very helpful to the local population because if they can start their own businesses, they do not have to migrate. The Western Ukrainian Training Center helps rural residents and those in towns and small cities, which often lack the experience. We help rural families unite in cooperative organizations of agricultural services and sell organic products to the cities without intermediaries. We also focus on educating women with a number of different initiatives and projects.
Why this project is a Good Practice example:
This project serves as a good practice example because it shows what can work in an area where there is not much local development and international aid.

Western Ukraine (population over 10 million) is one of the most economically disadvantaged regions, has high unemployment rates, and many that migrate in search of jobs abroad. Western Ukraine produces a large share of Ukranian migrant workers. The COMPAS Report emphasized that Ukraine is not only the major supplier of migrant labor to Europe, but also the major sending country of irregular immigrant workers.

Impact Evaluation:
Lessons Learned:
The main lessons from our experience is that that efficient business projects and charity can work in incredibly severe conditions such as Western Ukraine.
