|Better Pensions, Better Jobs|
|The Inter-American Development Bank and the Labor Markets and Social Security Unit are organizing an event on Better pensions, Better jobs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This event will be accompanied by the President of the IDB, Mr. Luis Alberto Moreno; Vice-President for Sectors and Knowledge, Mr. Santiago Levy; and IDB Executive Director for Colombia and Peru, Mr. Juan Carlos Echeverry; as well as, leading experts Orazio Attanasio (UCL London), Solange Berstein (Superintendent of Pensions, Chile) and Stephen Kay (Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta).
During the event, panelists will be discussing the flagship of the Labor Markets and Social Security Unit Better pensions, Better jobs: towards Universal Coverage in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The authors of this book are Mariano Bosch, Senior Specialist in Social Security; Ángel Melguizo, Pension Coordinator and Lead Specialist; and Carmen Pagés, Chief of the Labor Markets and Social Security Unit.
The book offers an overview of the current state of pension coverage in the region and proposes a series of possible paths towards universal coverage, not only as a fight against poverty during the elder years; but also, as part of an increasing impact on formal employment and productivity.
